Hello, I’m Adrià. I’m a designer, an engineer, or something in between. People often call this creative technologist, creative coder or computational designer, but I’m not even sure what that means.
I work in all kinds of projects at the intersection of art, design and technology. While most of them are visual and interactive, I usually get most excited by the ones that allow me to explore new fields, such as product design, sculpture, motion graphics or videogames. Some have been covered in specialized and mainstream media outlets like Wired, Fast Co.Design, The Creators Project or TimeOutNY, and some others have been exhibited at festivals like Sónar or Dumbo Arts Festival.
I love research and concept. I enjoy thinking about our technological culture, about the tensions between analog and digital media, and reflecting that on my work. I like speculative, playful design.
I was born in Barcelona, where I got my undergrad in Multimedia Engineering and started studying Interaction Design. Now I’m living and working in New York, having recently graduated from the Interactive Telecommunications Program thanks to a grant awarded by Obra Social “la Caixa”.
